The Innovation Centre development on campus is the cornerstone of a partnership initiative towards a Science Park for Exeter, comprising the University, Met Office, Regional Development Agency, Devon County Council, Exeter City Council and East Devon District Council.
The partnership’s vision is to create a science park which is the key regional centre for the successful exploitation of science, technology, and knowledge and which projects the quality of life, scientific and innovative capacity and ambitions of the city of Exeter and the sub-region.
The Science Park will be located at Redhayes, a high profile site, close to the airport and adjacent to junction 29 of the M5. It is anticipated that the first phase of building is due for completion in 2010.
The Innovation Centre and Innovation Exeter initiative will play an important part in the development of the Science Park, with clients of the Innovation Centre expanding into the Science Park, and with the Innovation Centre rolling out its business and technology support services to Science Park tenants.
